The 99 cent Chili
Crisis"
Chris Manning
International Director of Loss Prevention & Security
Wendy’s International Corporation
Crisis? If your corporation was in the
restaurant and food industry, what could be more of a crisis than having
a person claim they found a finger in their chili? Chris will
provide details on how the finger in the chili crisis unfolded, and how
Wendy's responded to the intense scrutiny and pressure from outside the
corporation. He'll provide insightful analysis on what decisions were
correct during the investigation, and also what went wrong. Many
details were unknown to the public during the crisis. Chris will
share crucial insight as to how the Wendy's Crisis team worked through
this compelling case.
While many of our members have endured crisis situations of their own,
Wendy's high profile chili case became "urban legend" and was front page national news for a forty-five
day period.
